What are full-sole ballet shoes?
Full-sole ballet shoes have a single suede sole running from heel to toe. They resist the foot slightly, which helps young dancers build strength and hold a clean line, and are required by most UK exam boards for early grades.
Who they're for
Children, absolute beginners, and any dancer whose syllabus requires them (RAD, ISTD lower grades).
Materials and construction
Canvas or leather uppers with one full suede sole. Usually pre-sewn elastic; drawstring included.
How to fit them
Full-soles should sit flat with no gap under the arch when the foot points. If the sole buckles, the shoe is too long.
